No Cuervo

This quilt was made in a Roberta Horton class and is pictured in Roberta’s book The Fabric Makes the Quilt. Roberta notes “Judy added a mola-like ‘outline’ to her shape to provide more contrast with the background. Rather than doing reverse appliqué by hand, she simply inserted two additional fabric layers between the snake and the background.” Judy originally intended to make a raven quilt in the class; “instead, a snake insinuated itself.” Judy did embroider two ravens onto the quilt and attached “raven” feathers with beads.
