Labrador Parade

Judy was the Quilter in Residence at the 2007 Empty Spools conference at Asilomar. This was one of the quilts she featured, with the following notes: “This well-loved quilt belongs to my well-loved and terribly interesting husband, Bill. I have fairly good technical skills, but I don’t always use them: this quilt never would lie flat! It has been napped under, washed many times, generally abused—and thoroughly enjoyed. The Labrador Retrievers, designed by Mimi Spaulding, are done in reverse appliqué. I got tired of making the dog-tooth border and quit after piecing enough skinny points for the two short sides.” Quilt was started 3/24/1987 and finished 8/13/1991.
